Our Story
In 1998, Jeff Bianchini began doing plumbing side work. He had trained in Macomb Township — moving concrete, running pipe, learning from scratch. The business launched from a basement in Center Line, Michigan: a phone line, a message pad, and a pager. When a customer paged him, Jeff found a payphone and called back.
Advertising was equally modest — small ads in the Warren Weekly and Macomb Daily, plus referrals. The Yellow Pages were out of budget for years.
📖 “We had a phone in our basement, a message pad, and a pager. If somebody called, I’d find a phone and call them back. You just did what you had to do.” — Jeff Bianchini, Co-Founder
Kathy Bianchini was selling real estate and doing appraisals until in 2000 and stepped into the business full time. The phones, scheduling, and customer relationships became hers. Jeff and Kathy graduated from Center Line High School, were married, and have three children who have all worked at the plumbing company at one time or another. By 2003, they purchased their current location at 25780 Ryan Road, Warren, MI — the address Bison has called home ever since.
The Name
Jeff’s father, August Bianchini, started Bi-Son Construction in Warren, Michigan in the 1980s — "Bi-son" meaning two sons, referring to his own sons who were meant to run it one day. August passed away not long after. When Jeff started his own company, the name was never a question. He took “Bi-Son,” made it one word, and carried his father’s legacy forward.
The “That’s No Bull” bulldog logo followed naturally and has stuck ever since. In 2013, the family brought home an English Bulldog named Bison — who has greeted customers and UPS drivers from the Ryan Road shop ever since.
What Makes Us Different
Private equity has reshaped much of the home service industry. Technicians run on sales quotas and commission scripts, and customers — especially elderly ones — end up sold repairs they don’t need. Bison Plumbing was built as the direct alternative to that model.
Diagnose.
We use Picote Solutions camera technology to see exactly what’s happening — no guessing, no assumptions.
Educate.
We show you the footage and walk you through what caused the problem and what happens if it goes unaddressed.
Present Options.
Good, better, best — laid out honestly. You choose. We don’t push.
Our technicians are hourly and salary-based.
Kathy holds every customer close — and holds the team to the same standard. Bison Plumbing also partners with Acorn & GreenSky (Ref: 81085618) for flexible financing, so a necessary repair is never deferred because of budget. And unlike most of the industry, we charge no credit card surcharges — one flat rate, no surprises.
The Team
More than half of Bison’s field team has been here ten years or longer. The longest-tenured tech is at fifteen. That doesn’t happen by accident — it happens when a company genuinely invests in the people who keep it running.
The team includes family — children Jordyn and Jeffrey, nephew Gavin, cousin Ricky — alongside long-tenured crew members like Vern, Josh, Joe, and Damani. When a tech wraps his last call and a teammate is still on a dig across town, he calls to offer help. Nobody punches out until everyone is settled.
Credentials & Standards
Bison Plumbing is fully licensed and insured through Michigan LARA. Rehabilitation work complies with ASTM F1216 and ASTM F1743 — the national standards for cured-in-place pipe lining and sewer rehabilitation. Our credentials include:
A company that only owns excavation equipment will always recommend digging. We own the full range — sewer camera inspection, hydro jetting, trenchless sewer repair and pipe lining, pipe bursting, and traditional sewer repair — so the recommendation always fits your situation, not our equipment inventory.
Commercial Work
Over 27 years, Bison’s scope has grown well beyond single-family homes. We serve commercial and institutional clients across Macomb County, Oakland County, and Wayne County:
Bison is also a referral partner for the City of Warren’s building department, which directs residents to us when sewer and drain issues arise. For commercial inquiries, visit our commercial plumbing page.
Awards & Recognition
Bison Plumbing has been named a Nextdoor Neighborhood Favorite every year from 2020 through 2025, recognized by Three Best Rated as the #1 plumber in Warren, MI, and highly recommended by local businesses on Alignable.
Over 2.900 verified reviews on Google and Yelp — earned over 27 years of showing up, doing the work right, and treating people the way we’d want to be treated.
Community
Jeff and Kathy both grew up here, attending Center Line High School. Their kids grew up in the business. The crew has served the same neighborhoods for over a decade. Bison contributes scholarships and donates to local churches, high schools, and community organizations throughout Macomb County and Metro Detroit. Ask, and the answer is almost always yes.
