Bison Plumbing is family-owned and operated. Started by Jeff Bianchini and his wife Kathy in their basement in a small home in Center Line in December of 1998. Jeff’s father, August Bianchini had started a construction company in Warren, Michigan back in the 1980s named Bi-Son Construction, for his two sons to run one day. Sadly, he passed away shortly after. When Jeff decided to open up his own company, there was no better name to honor his dad than Bison Plumbing. Then Bison became known for the “That’s No Bull” logo and it stuck. In 2003, they bought the Current location on Ryan Road. Jeff and Kathy graduated from Center Line High School, were married, and have three children who have all worked at the plumbing company at one time or another. In 2020, the latest addition to the family was brought home, another English bulldog named Rocky. You can find Rocky on most of our social media posing with a Bison Hat.
In the beginning, there was just a commitment: do the job right, treat people well, and never recommend something a customer doesn't need.
Twenty-eight years later, that commitment is still the operating system of every technician, every job, and every interaction at Bison Plumbing. We call it Setting a New Standard in Plumbing — not as a slogan, but as a daily expectation we hold ourselves to.
These are the values that drive it.
The home service industry has a reputation problem. Private equity-backed companies bring in sales scripts and technician quotas. Pressure tactics get used on homeowners — especially elderly ones — who don't have the technical knowledge to push back.
We built Bison Plumbing as the answer to that model. Our process has three steps, and they never change:
Diagnose
We use the latest cutting edge sewer & camera technology to deliver precise, real-time inspections— we never guess, we diagnose with confidence.
Educate —
We bring the customer to the camera screen. We show them what we see. We explain what caused the problem, what happens if it goes unaddressed, and what the repair options actually are.
Present Options —
We give every customer a clear range: what's the immediate fix, what's the mid-term solution, what's the long-term investment. Good, better, best — laid out transparently with honest tradeoffs. Then we step back and let the customer choose.
No pressure. No manufactured urgency. No recommending a repair that isn't needed. Jeff Bianchini has said it plainly: "" “We don’t allow upselling tactics or manufactured repairs—honesty and transparency come first, every time.”
That's not a policy we wrote down. It's a line we've never had to cross.
Our prices are honest, transparent, and consistent — what you see (or what we quote) is exactly what you’ll pay. No surprises, no hidden fees, and no upselling or changing the price after the fact.
Bison Plumbing does not add credit card surcharges. We don't have hidden fees. We don't operate on a commission model that rewards technicians for upselling — our team is hourly and salary-based, which means their job is to solve your problem, not to maximize your invoice.
For customers facing significant repairs, we partner with Acorn & GreenSky (Ref: 81085618) to offer flexible financing options. A necessary repair shouldn't be deferred because of a budget constraint — and we make sure it doesn't have to be.
Transparent pricing is not a marketing claim. It's the only way we've ever operated.
Kathy Bianchini co-founded this business and manages its human side with a specific philosophy. She has a soft spot for all her customers and holds the team to the same standard.
The way she frames it internally: "Act like it's your mom. If it were your mother's house, you'd want her to have the best — the right repair, up to code, done properly. Treat every customer's home the same way."
We also give back to the communities we serve. Bison Plumbing donates to local schools, supports churches and contributes to neighborhood organizations throughout Macomb County and Oakland County.
Staff retention in the trades is notoriously difficult, but at Bison Plumbing we’ve built something special. More than half of our field team has been with us for ten years or longer. That’s not luck. It’s the result of treating our employees the same way we treat our customers — like family.
They're how a family-run business stays a family.
Bison Plumbing holds the certifications and manufacturer authorizations that allow us to offer every legitimate repair option — not just the ones that require a shovel. We are licensed and insured through the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA), and our rehabilitation work complies with ASTM F1216 and ASTM F1743 — the national standards governing cured-in-place pipe lining and sewer line rehabilitation.
Our licensed credentials include:
“Of course, we can always excavate your property if that’s the best solution. However, because we are up to date and practicing the latest technologies, we offer sewer camera inspections, hydro jetting, trenchless sewer repairs (such as UV full-length and spot repairs), robotic cutting and reinstating, pipe lining, pipe bursting, spray coating, and traditional sewer repair. We can honestly recommend the option that truly fits your specific situation.”
