What does "no-dig" or "trenchless" actually mean?

What is pipe lining?
We slide a soft, resin-coated sleeve into your existing pipe and harden it in place. It forms a smooth new pipe inside the old one, with no joints for roots to get into. It's rated to last around 50 years.
What is pipe bursting?
When a pipe is too far gone to line, we pull a brand-new plastic pipe through the old one, breaking the old pipe outward into the soil as we go. It needs two small pits — one near the house, one near the street. See pipe bursting costs →
Why can't you just give me a firm price over the phone?
Because nobody can see through dirt. Two houses on the same street can need very different work. Anyone quoting a hard number without looking at the pipe is guessing — and that number usually climbs later.
Will my homeowner's insurance cover this?
Usually not, unless you've added a service line rider to your policy. It's worth a five-minute call to your insurer before you schedule work.
